Kelly Martin,
Registered Massage Therapist
Kelly is a very thorough Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) who graduated from the Medix College Accelerated Program and started practicing in 2016. She will assess and treat by the standards of practice set forth by the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario to find the cause of dysfunction.
Her education and previous background in healthcare allow her to create safe and effective treatments for her clients. Having had experience with many injuries including fractures and a motor vehicle accident, she understands acute and chronic pain, the effect that it has on a person’s life and how much massage can help. She has a long history of horseback riding, so she knows the movements required and injuries involved.
She is a lighter pressure therapist, who treats every client with what that person’s body tells her it needs rather than forcing the body tissues; this way the body can respond naturally and stress free. Kelly believes in finding and treating the cause of dysfunction and is primarily specialized in injuries, pain, and myo-fascial release (MFR). She also uses many different techniques, both general swedish and advanced to find what is most effective for each client. She has found that home care is vital to healing and will teach exercises to interested clients, to allow for even better results. Kelly offers many treatments such as: relaxation, postural dysfunction, trigger point release, injury rehabilitation/prevention, tension relief and myo-fascial release. She especially enjoys treating injuries, scoliosis, and nerve conditions. She is interested in continuing education and has many certifications, including aromatherapy as well as trauma and mental health.
